A cultural experience

In the morning, a walk on Hono, the connected island

Followed by a lunch with two types of warm-smoked salmon

... both interspersted with discussions around plans for my design-management teaching module, and some exploration of the SVID cases we will use in our uinteractive strategy article.

Then in the evening we went to the Goteborg Univesity Management Spexet. "Spexet refers to a troupe of non-professional student actors who normally rehearse and stage one self-written play per year. These performances are very popular in Sweden; they combine the passion of an amateur theater with the hilarious improvisational performance of a stand-up-comedian." At Gothenburg there are at least half a dozen spexet ("Specs") groups; this was the school of management. The play was "Bonnie and Clyde", loosely following the story, with the text containing various spoofs and references to student life. It was a musical -- the songs were all re-written to broadway tunes to capture the moment in the Bonnie and Clyde story, but again, with a farcical subtext. The characters were comic exagerations, and the audience participated by calling for repeats of particular parts -- which would then be preseted a little differently. The music and acting was of professional quality, and even though I understood little of the actual text, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole performance. A new cultureal experience!
