Almost-cousins day

Morning chores -- swabbing the deck and (yet another) supermarket excursion (with helpers still in their pjs) -- then Jack, Karen and Mary went for a short sail

Mary's childhood friend, Tami, who lives in Moscow, is in the States visiting her mother (also my friend), so Katya and Natalia, ("almost cousins") -- and Tami and Tina -- came for the day. They were keen to go crabbing, swim to the raft, and build sandcastles.

(Faithful readers already know about these activities, so no need for illustration.)

Every year when Tami and Mary were little we took their photo on the "big rock". The tradition continues!

Meanwhile, the scholars were at work -- not!

The "Kid's Beach Party" was this evening, so the four "almost cousins" uncovered burried treasure, cooked 'somores, and swaggered home in pirate role.

Another good day!
