Nostalgia

Today I went to Avon to the dentist -- probably my last visit beause the dentist we've had since we moved to Avon in 1972 is retiring at the end of the year. There's no longer the same reason to drive an hour and a half each way for a 45 minute appointment! I always joked that our family had an "endowed chair" in his office. We had an emotional good-bye. I admired the "tooth fairy cow" painted by a local artist that now stands outside the office.

I also went to the supermarket where I shopped at least once a week for 30 years. It didn;t look as I remembered it. Have I changed or has it? (OK, no need to answer that one!)

Then on to my campus office -- still the old one, although my new one has had its first coat of paint. My new tasks are starting to pile up, and I seem to get little work done between various conversations. Another reason for nostalgia!
