1. To go to the Factory (again!) with my new computer. The technician finally discovered that my external disk drive did not work -- nor did two others that he tried. I became tired of waiting for him to unpack yet another new drive and try it in veraious configurations -- different disks, on a different computer, different cords, etc., so left my computer with him,. When I collected it he assured me that I now have a working drive annd that he had thoroughly tested it. I was not in the mood to try it in front of him, ...but, if it doesn't work ... #$%**! The whole business took up far more time than I would have liked. I still have other issues, but they are not work-threatening, so must wait for another day.
2. To view my new office and make decisions about furniture and layout. It has windows! It needs cleaning and painting before I can move in, but I'll be able to fit all my stuff in it quite easily. I removed all my posters from my current office and took them home. I need to think about the visual cues I want to give my visitors. (For insiders,
the office formerly belonged to Pete Maresco, and a new finance person will probably have my current office.)
Mission accomplished! But the list was only three tasks long!
